Last Wild Bison reveals one of the world’s least known but most heartbreaking wildlife stories: the ongoing slaughter of America’s last free-roaming bison. With important archival footage from frontline activists, testimony from preeminent wildlife biologists, and profound insights from Native elders, the film raises questions about what we’ve learned since colonization and how, looking ahead, we value and protect wildness on our public lands.
Please help us in our goal to to elevate the voices of tribes and marginalized communities along with data-driven science in seeking environmental justice, ultimately including federal protection for bison. Through our fiscal sponsor at the Redford Center, your donations go directly into supporting our impact plan, starting with virtual screenings across the country.
Last Wild Bison is a collaboration between writer David Seth Miller and director Shon Bollock, along with extensive support from the Buffalo Field Campaign. The film is a Locks Media production teaming up with Jason Butkiewicz for animation and Josh Thomas as drone and camera operator.
